ABOUT VIGNAN'S UNIVERSITY
Vignan's Foundation for Science, Technology and Research (VFSTR) is a deemed-to-be university located in Vadlamudi, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. Its journey began in 1997 with the establishment of Vignan Engineering College under the Vignan Educational Trust, founded by Dr. Lavu Rathaiah. Over the years, it has grown into a multidisciplinary institution focused on engineering, sciences, management, agriculture, biotechnology, pharmacy, and research.

DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING
The Department of Civil Engineering at Vignan’s Foundation for Science, Technology & Research (VFSTR) has NBA-accreditation and offers a four-year B.Tech. programme in Civil Engineering and an M.Tech. programme in Sustainable Smart Construction. The programmes are designed in alignment with NEP 2020 and evolving industry requirements, with a strong emphasis on contemporary engineering practices, sustainability, and innovation.
The department is supported by advanced and well-equipped laboratories in Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Concrete Technology, Surveying, and Environmental Engineering, providing students with extensive opportunities for hands-on learning, experimentation, and research.
Our experienced and research-oriented faculty actively contribute to funded research projects, consultancy activities, and international academic collaborations. Students are provided with valuable industry exposure through guest lectures, field visits, workshops, technical activities, and research paper presentations, enabling them to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice.
The department has achieved an outstanding 100% placement rate for the 2026 graduating batch, reflecting its commitment to academic excellence, industry readiness, and student career development.
Through RACE (Royal Association of Civil Engineering), the department provides students with a vibrant platform to participate in technical, cultural, and professional activities.
